I grew up on television and film, so any idea I can conjure up of what Italy is like is highly sensationalized, romanticized, and narrow. So naturally the city of Venice is on my list so I can experience it for myself and stop living in a fictional fantasy. A romantic sunset on a gondola ride with my love, or a self-guided tour to locations where films like Casino Royale were shot are definitely the corny activities I'd go for - but not without some research. Although you can stay at the Hotel Cipriani, the sinking villa scene in Casino Royale was actually shot in a tank at Pinewood Studios. But we'll always have the Rialto and the Grand Canal!
I'd be equally as satisfied just walking off calories in between food stops. So where does a vegan gourmand find good eats in Venice?
